Current Denominations Overview for Pakistan Prize Bonds

Pakistan currently has six active Prize Bond denominations: Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750, Rs.1,500, Rs.25,000 Premium and Rs.40,000 Premium. The first four are National Prize Bonds in bearer form, while Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 are Premium Prize Bonds registered in the investor’s name. National Savings lists these six denominations as the Prize Bonds presently offered by the Government of Pakistan.

That distinction matters. The current Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bonds should not be confused with the old Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 bearer bonds that were withdrawn from circulation.

  • Current bearer Prize Bonds: Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750 and Rs.1,500.
  • Current registered Premium Prize Bonds: Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000.
  • Rs.7,500 and Rs.15,000 bearer Prize Bonds are withdrawn.
  • The old Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 bearer Prize Bonds are also withdrawn.
  • The active Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 products are registered Premium Prize Bonds, not replacements in bearer form.

The State Bank of Pakistan’s National Prize Bond material identifies Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750 and Rs.1,500 as the four National Prize Bond denominations currently in circulation. National Savings separately confirms that Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 are available as registered Premium Prize Bonds.

Current Bearer Prize Bond Denominations

Rs.100 Prize Bond

The Rs.100 Prize Bond is the lowest-value current National Prize Bond denomination.

Its official prize structure lists:

PrizeNumber of prizesAmount each
First prize1Rs.700,000
Second prize3Rs.200,000
Third prize1,199Rs.1,000

The denomination refers to the face value of the bond, not the amount that can be won. A Rs.100 bond can therefore qualify for prizes much larger than Rs.100.

Rs.200 Prize Bond

The Rs.200 denomination is also an active bearer National Prize Bond.

Its current official prize table shows:

PrizeNumber of prizesAmount each
First prize1Rs.750,000
Second prize5Rs.250,000
Third prize2,394Rs.1,250

You can check previous Rs.200 winning numbers through the Prize Bond search and compare upcoming dates on the draw schedule.

Rs.750 Prize Bond

The Rs.750 Prize Bond remains one of Pakistan’s four active bearer denominations.

Its prize structure is:

PrizeNumber of prizesAmount each
First prize1Rs.1,500,000
Second prize3Rs.500,000
Third prize1,696Rs.9,300

Do not confuse the Rs.750 bond with the withdrawn Rs.7,500 bond. They are different denominations, and Rs.750 remains active.

Rs.1,500 Prize Bond

Rs.1,500 is currently the highest-value bearer National Prize Bond denomination.

Its official prize structure lists:

PrizeNumber of prizesAmount each
First prize1Rs.3,000,000
Second prize3Rs.1,000,000
Third prize1,696Rs.18,500

Rs.1,500 should likewise not be confused with the withdrawn Rs.15,000 denomination.

Current Premium Prize Bond Denominations

Pakistan also has two active Premium Prize Bond denominations:

  • Rs.25,000 Premium Prize Bond
  • Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bond

Unlike the four ordinary National Prize Bonds, Premium Prize Bonds are registered in the investor’s name. National Savings states that they provide quarterly prize draws and biannual profit payments, with prize money and profit credited directly to the investor’s bank account.

Rs.25,000 Premium Prize Bond

The Rs.25,000 Premium Prize Bond is registered rather than bearer.

The official prize schedule provides, per series:

PrizeNumber of prizesAmount each
First prize2Rs.30,000,000
Second prize5Rs.10,000,000
Third prize700Rs.300,000

This is an active product. The old Rs.25,000 bearer National Prize Bond, however, was withdrawn from circulation. The two should not be treated as the same instrument.

Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bond

The Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bond is the other current registered denomination.

Its official prize schedule provides, per series:

PrizeNumber of prizesAmount each
First prize1Rs.80,000,000
Second prize3Rs.30,000,000
Third prize660Rs.500,000

National Savings states that both Premium denominations are registered, transferable and pledgeable, and that prize money and profit are credited to the registered investor’s bank account.

See the separate Premium Prize Bonds guide for purchase requirements, registration, profit and other scheme rules.

Bearer vs Premium Prize Bonds

The easiest way to understand Pakistan’s current denominations is to divide them into two groups.

FeatureBearer National Prize BondsPremium Prize Bonds
Current valuesRs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750, Rs.1,500Rs.25,000, Rs.40,000
OwnershipBearer instrumentRegistered in investor’s name
Prize drawsYesYes
Profit paymentNoYes
Bank account linkageNot inherent to ownershipRequired for direct credit
Prize paymentClaimed under applicable procedureDirect credit under Premium scheme

This difference is more important than the denomination alone. Someone asking about a Rs.40,000 Prize Bond, for example, must first establish whether they mean the current registered Premium Prize Bond or an old withdrawn bearer Rs.40,000 bond.

Which Prize Bond Denominations Have Been Withdrawn?

The following higher-value bearer National Prize Bonds are no longer part of the current active denomination list:

  • Rs.7,500
  • Rs.15,000
  • Rs.25,000 bearer Prize Bond
  • Rs.40,000 bearer Prize Bond

SBP records these denominations as withdrawn from circulation.

The Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 values still appear in today’s Prize Bond system only because Premium Prize Bonds with those face values remain active.

For withdrawal history, conversion and redemption information, see discontinued Prize Bonds.

Does Every Current Denomination Take Part in Draws?

Yes. National Savings publishes draw results for all four current bearer denominations as well as both Premium denominations. Its current draw archive includes Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750, Rs.1,500, Premium Rs.25,000 and Premium Rs.40,000.

National Savings also currently states that a Prize Bond must have been issued at least 60 days before the relevant draw to be eligible for a prize.

Check the Prize Bond draw schedule before relying on a particular draw date.

Which Denomination Should You Check?

If you already hold a bond, use the denomination printed on the instrument and search only the corresponding draw results.

For example, a number printed on an Rs.750 bond should be checked against Rs.750 draws, not against Rs.100, Rs.200 or Rs.1,500 results. Premium Prize Bonds must likewise be checked against the correct registered denomination.

PrizeBondList.pk’s Power Search can help search historical draw data, while official National Savings or SBP records should be used for final verification before making a prize claim.

Current Denominations in Simple Terms

Pakistan’s current denominations overview comes down to six values: Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750, Rs.1,500, Rs.25,000 Premium and Rs.40,000 Premium. The first four are bearer National Prize Bonds. The last two are registered Premium Prize Bonds with a different ownership and payment system.

Older Rs.7,500 and Rs.15,000 bonds, along with old bearer Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 bonds, should not be mixed into the current list. If you are checking a bond you already own, first confirm its denomination and type, then use the relevant draw record or Prize Bond results.
