Pakistan Prize Bond Prize Money and Winning Amounts

Current Prize Bond Denominations

The Government of Pakistan currently offers four National Prize Bond denominations and two registered Premium Prize Bond denominations: Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.750, Rs.1,500, Rs.25,000 Premium and Rs.40,000 Premium.

Prize Bond Tax on Winnings

Under the current National Savings policy, withholding tax is deducted from prize money at source according to the winner’s Active Taxpayers List status.

Premium Prize Bonds Are Registered

The active Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bonds are registered in the investor’s name. National Savings states that Premium Prize Bonds have quarterly prize draws, and their prize money and profit are handled through the registered banking arrangement. They should never be presented as the old bearer Rs.25,000 or Rs.40,000 bonds.

Historical deadline: SBP’s final published extension allowed encashment, conversion or redemption of withdrawn Rs.7,500, Rs.15,000, Rs.25,000 and Rs.40,000 bearer bonds until December 31, 2024.

What Prize Bond Holders Should Know

60-Day Eligibility

National Savings states that a bond must have been issued at least 60 days before the relevant draw to qualify for prize money.

Six-Year Claim Period

For active National Prize Bonds, prize money can generally be claimed within six years from the date of the relevant draw.

No Guaranteed Winner

No method, VIP number or guess paper can ensure a prize-bond win. Winning numbers are determined through the official draw process.
